Shame on Molly Ivins for giving such frivolous, nonsensical reasons to dismiss Congressman Dennis Kucinich's bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination ("Who Can Beat President Doofus?" August issue). Even though she admits he's decent, kind, and excellent, she finds him unelectable because he's short and skinny, plus horrors he's a vegetarian. Also, he's got "no Elvis," which I suppose means no popular appeal.

Well, excuse me, I didn't realize that this campaign was a beauty contest or popularity contest, something like one of those nutty reality TV shows. If so, then according to Ivins's criteria for winning the election, to heck with the issues and with the...
