I celebrate the sentiments aroused in Sandy Williams's article about the desperate straits of the working poor in this economy ("What's After the Piggy Bank?" June issue). It's a portrait of the working class, and even the middle class, running on empty.

The minimum wage, wrenched with immense struggle, has never been a living wage.

I can only hope that the world of the struggling families so...
