Conducted in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor to help small businesses understand employment tax. An event to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. Held at the Hilton Anchorage beginning at 6 p.m. Contact the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Alaska Division at 274-1190.

13 Developing a Business Plan

Covers the basic steps involved in producing a business plan, including researching business ideas, analyzing the profitability of small business, introduction to the necessary financial statements and consideration of loan requirements. 13 A Taste of Traditions

Join Alaska's premier chefs and guest cooks as they create A Taste of Traditions at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. A variety of food will be presented and guests have a chance to visit with each chef as they stroll through the center sampling hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees and wild berry desserts. Doors open at 7 p.m. for "bistro style' dining followed by a special Alaska Native art auction at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person and tables can be reserved for groups of eight to 10. 14 Voices of Recovery

Cook Inlet Tribal Council is sponsoring the "Alaska Sings Together" celebration for National Sobriety Month, the month of September.
