TEI will field an outstanding lineup of conferences, seminars, and courses for the year," according to Terilea J. Wielenga, the Institute's 2012-2013 Senior Vice President and Chair of the Continuing Education Committee. In addition to the Annual and Midyear Conferences in October 2012 and March 2013 --keystone events on TEI's continuing education calendar--other highlights include a seminar on advanced issues in tax accounting and financial reporting, seminars on advanced state and local tax issues and on partnerships, and the Institute's unparalleled IRS audits and appeals program. In addition, three week-long courses on federal and international issues will be offered. The Institute will also supplement its face-to-face meeting programs with a series of no-fee webinars, cosponsored with Thomson Reuters.

She noted that there were no fee increases for this year's programs.

Building on nearly a decade of success in financial reporting seminars, the Institute will offer a seminar on Advanced Issues in Tax Accounting and Financial Reporting on September 20-21 at the Westin O'Hare in Chicago. The program will address the full scope of the regulatory landscape including Income Tax Disclosures and SEC FX and FD Requirements, APB 23, Revenue Recognition, Mergers and Acquisitions & Dispositions, Equity-Based Compensation, Foreign Currency Provision, Uncertain Tax Positions and Transfer Pricing, and Tax Accounting for Other Comprehensive Income.
