Success occurs as a result of expanding your strengths rather than focusing on your weaknesses --at least that is what Alycia Sutor presented at the 2014 Leaders Conference, a gathering of the 2015 LMA board, chapter presidents and committee chairs. That philosophy has stayed with me several months later as it extends beyond the individual to teams and organizations as well.

From thought leadership and educational offerings to the ability to network with the brightest minds in the legal marketing and business development community, LMA has a multitude of strengths that help attract new members every year while retaining existing members. Equally important, one of LMA's strengths is its willingness to listen to members and adapt with the evolving legal industry.

LMA has conducted qualitative and quantitative research in an effort to better listen to its members and the greater legal community and address their needs. Through our member segmentation study, we were able to identify a growing population within our membership--one focused on the Business of Law, such as pricing professionals, that had distinct needs not entirely fulfilled by LMA at the time.
