Michael Mosberg and Candi Peoples. Mike and Candi,
together with Sam S choonmaker and Professor Jessic a Dixon
Weaver from the FLQ Board of Edi tors, spent months
identifying po tential schools and then interview ing deans
and professor s. Ultimately the search committee re com-
mended NYLS a nd Professor Grumet to the ofce rs, who
unanimously supported the committee’s recommendation.
We thank Kendra Fershee fo r her years of dedicated servi ce
to FLQ. This is a wonder ful development for our Section a nd
the journal.

Jonathan W. Wolfe (jwolfe@skoloffwolfe.co m) is Chair of
the ABA Family Law Sec tion. He is Co-Managing Partner
of the New Jersey law r m of Skoloff & Wolfe and Chair
of the rm’s Matrimonial and Litigation Departments.
Along with the rest of th e country and the
world, the ABA Family Law Se ction is
feeling the impact o f COVID-19. We
unfortunately had n o choice but to cancel
our Spring 2020 CLE Confe rence in San
Diego. I know the conferen ce would have
been terric and am s o appreciative of all the hard work and
preparation that had be en done by our Section member s,
staff, and speakers.
I am excited that we will be able to o ffer several of the
CLEs that had been s cheduled for San Diego to member s
online free of charge and tha t we are also working on
programming for the ge neral public to highlight the work of
our Section and ou r partners. We have also worked, and will
continue to work, to regula rly provide our members with
information that can be u seful to their practices and their
clients during this pe riod. I have personally marveled at t he
diligence and thought fulness of our volunteer leaders a nd
our staff as we nav igate these challenging times.
While I am disappointe d by the cancellation of our
meeting, there is s o much that we have to be thankful for
during this period. I am m oved by the seless acts of law yers
across the countr y, and family lawyers in particular, who have
come to the aid of those in ne ed during this crisis. I have seen
lawyers helpin g other lawyers, lawyer s helping clients, and
lawyers volunte ering their time to provide pro bono ser vices
to so many in need— from victims of domestic violen ce to
doctors and r st responders in need of will s because they are
on the front lines of this pan demic. While this crisis has done
so much to physically div ide us from our colleagues and
clients, it also ha s brought us closer together. I am proud to
be a lawyer, and I am proud of the w ork of this Section.
The Family Law Sectio n remains in excellent condition. We
are nancially strong. We are i nnovative. We will continue to
be thought leader s. We will continue to provide meaningful
benets to our me mbers. Along those lines, I am p leased to
report that we have s elected New York Law School (NYLS) a s
the new home for the Se ction’s journal, Family Law Quarterly
(FLQ). Professor Li sa Grumet, the NYLS Direc tor of the Diane
Abbey Law Insti tute for Children and Families, will serve a s
the new FLQ Editor in Chief. Thi s is the culmination of
herculean effor ts by our FLQ search committee, chaired by
