Section 9 Length of Coverage

The continuation of coverage must extend to the following periods:

• The basic continuation period is 18 months after the qualifying event

• A second qualifying event within 18 months of the first will extend continuation of coverage to 36 months

• If the qualifying event was bankruptcy of the plan sponsor and the death of the covered employee occurs, qualified beneficiaries’ coverage is extended to 36 months from the date of the death
