D. (§9.63) Similar to Living Will
Like a living will, the treatment directive allows the declarant to state in advance personal wishes regarding the use of life-prolonging procedures. It is positive proof of the declarant’s intent. It may also provide for the donation of bodily organs. A treatment directive does not take effect until the declarant is unable to make or communicate health care decisions.
