A. (§9.23) Official Immunity Doctrine

The doctrine of official immunity protects public officers acting within the scope of their authority from liability for injuries caused by their discretionary acts or omissions. Kanagawa v. State by and Through Freeman, 685 S.W.2d 831 (Mo. banc 1985). Like sovereign immunity, official immunity is a well-established doctrine with a long history in Missouri. Reed v.
