VII. (§9.19) Conclusion

The appellate courts deny the vast majority of motions for sanctions. Sanctions are reserved for extremely rare cases. While sanctions are rarely granted, the appellate courts will not hesitate to impose them when the facts and circumstances warrant it. To avoid sanctions, the appellants and appellants’ attorneys should beware of bringing appeals in the following circumstances:
