When using a blood test, all foundational prerequisites must be met for its admission. These requirements vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but most jurisdictions include the following:

· The individual who took the blood sample was a licensed physician, registered nurse, or trained medical technician.

· A sterile needle was used.

· A sterile container was used.

· The blood was drawn according to accepted medical practices.
