Section 809 Panel Wraps Up Work.

After two years of work, the Section 809 Panel--tasked with making recommendations to render defense acquisitions more efficient--released its final report in January at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington.

It had some 90 recommendations in total, and like many of these blue-ribbon panels--lawmakers and policymakers are free to ignore them or adopt them. The panel has a good track record so far...
