F. (§8.40) Military Personnel
Although active duty military, National Guard, and Reservists receive support from military attorneys, at times counsel may be called on to provide support to deploying military personnel. DPAs for military personnel are exempt from state form, substance, formality, or recording rules. 10 U.S.C. § 1044b(a). The DPA must include the provisions of the federal law. 10 U.S.C. § 1044b(c).
