Section 72 Pleading Prejudgment Interest

It is not necessary to specifically plead for prejudgment interest; therefore, open-ended prayers for relief provide a sufficient basis for awarding interest. Thus, a prayer for damages “and for such other and further relief as [the] court deems just and proper under the circumstances” is sufficient. Call v.
