1. (§7.8) Generally

When a member of the venire has a financial interest in an interested insurance company, a challenge for cause should be granted. Murphy v. Cole, 88 S.W.2d 1023, 1025 (Mo. 1935). But the fact that a juror is merely a policyholder is not sufficient to disqualify a juror, Swinger v. Bell, 373 S.W.2d 30, 32 (Mo. 1963), and a strike for cause is not required for every kind of policyholder under all circumstances. Kendall v. Prudential Ins.
