When an employment contract allows an employer to terminate the contract upon giving notice, a discharged employee is entitled to be compensated during the notice period. Leick v. Mo. Plating Co., 211 S.W.2d 77, 82 (Mo. App. W.D. 1948). In Leick, the 5‑year employment contract could be terminated upon 90 days’ written notice.
