Both state and federal statutes prohibit certain practices and mandate certain disclosures with respect to mileage registered on
a vehicle odometer. The federal statute is the Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Savings Act (commonly known as the Federal Odometer Act), which is found at 49 U.S.C. §§ 32701–32711.
