By its terms, § 408.020 RSMo 2000, applies to pecuniary obligations arising under “written contracts” and “accounts.” The “written contract[ ]” portion of the statute has been applied to a wide variety of situations involving written contracts:

· provider service agreement—Midwest Div.-OPRMC, LLC v. Dep’t of Soc. Servs., Div. of Med. Servs., 241 S.W.3d 371 (Mo. App. W.D. 2007)

· arbitration award—Nat’l Ave. Bldg. Co. v. Stewart, 972 S.W.2d 649 (Mo. App. S.D. 1998)

· bond—Howard Constr. Co. v. Teddy Woods Constr. Co., 817 S.W.2d 556 (Mo. App. W.D. 1991)

· separation agreement—Fedor v. Strelow, 648 S.W.2d 626 (Mo. App. E.D. 1983)

· construction contract—Cotton v. 71 Highway Mini-Warehouse, 614 S.W.2d 304, 308 (Mo. App. W.D. 1981)

· real estate commission contract—Doerflinger Realty Co. v. Fields, 281 S.W.2d 609, 613 (Mo. App. E.D. 1955)

· contract for sale of goods—Cupples Co., Mfrs. v. Mooney, 25 S.W.2d 125, 129 (Mo. App. E.D. 1930)
