There are many cases that discuss the various contacts that may arise in an intellectual property case. For example, sending and receiving mail and telephone calls from Missouri does not, by itself, result in personal jurisdiction. Such contacts are too tenuous to subject a nonresident defendant to personal jurisdiction in Missouri. See Aylward v. Fleet Bank, 122 F.3d 616, 618 (8^th Cir. 1997); Institutional Food Mrkt.
