The assistant should have written instructions explaining how to file and record pleadings, motions, and interrogatories that are mailed or received. This permits the assistant to refer often to the written guidelines for clarification and reduces inquiries to the attorney. The instructions could be as follows: Filing Pleadings, Motions, Interrogatories, Objections, and Related Matters.

These instructions will explain how to file and record pleadings, motions, interrogatories, and related documents:

1. After the attorney has reviewed incoming or outgoing documents, they will be returned to the assistant for filing and recording.

2. Interrogatories Folder (Before Final Trial Preparation Begins). Any documents pertaining to interrogatories will be filed in the interrogatories folder. That folder will normally include:

a. Interrogatories

b. Objections to Interrogatories

c. Motions for Sanctions relating to interrogatories

d. Answers to Interrogatories

3. Pleadings Folder. All pleadings in the case will...
