Missouri experimented with separate chancery courts in its early days, but the experiment was over quickly.

At first, chancery and common-law cases were heard by the same court. After the purchase of the Louisiana Territory, the legislature for the District of Louisiana enacted statutes concerning “Practice in Chancery” on October 26, 1810.
