Rules 127.01–127.11 address when a juvenile can be taken into juvenile custody, detention centers, a juvenile’s rights while in detention, detention hearings, and release from detention.

Rule 127.05 prescribes the procedures to be followed when a juvenile is admitted to a detention facility. The juvenile officer or the person in charge of the detention facility must give both the juvenile and the juvenile’s custodian notice of the:

reason for the detention right to a detention hearing; and juvenile’s rights during detention
