II. (§6.2) Overview

The purpose of this chapter is to assist practitioners in preparing appellate briefs for the Missouri Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Missouri. Briefing in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit is addressed in Chapter 12 of this deskbook.

The principal authorities for the form and contents of briefs in the Missouri appellate courts are Rules 30.06 (criminal appeals) and 84.04 (civil appeals).
