A. (§6.2) Motions in Limine

Motions in limine are used to obtain a preliminary ruling on the admissibility of evidence, especially evidence in jury trials that would arguably be unfairly prejudicial or inflammatory. Holt v. State, 24 S.W.3d 708, 711 (Mo. App. E.D. 1999). “A motion is appropriate when the mere asking of an improper question in front of the jury panel may be so prejudicial that a party could be denied the right to a fair trial.” Id.
