1. (§6.18) Floating Zone

The concept of a “floating zone” allows a governmental authority to establish a district without immediately conferring it on any specific property within the jurisdiction. Rather, the district “floats” until an application for development is submitted by the landowner, at which time the district “attaches” to the property.
