a. (§5.9) Legal Files
Rules 30.04(a) and 81.12(a) set forth those documents that must be included in the legal file of criminal and civil cases. Other documents should not be included in the legal file unless the appeal presents an issue that directly deals with them and renders those documents necessary for the appellate court’s resolution of the issue.
