A. (§5.4) Bank Accounts

The personal representative or the personal representative’s attorney should ask each bank, savings association, and credit union in which the decedent had an account in the decedent’s sole name for the balance in all of those accounts as of the date of the decedent’s death along with the balance as of the date of death for all accounts in which the decedent was a co-owner, owner subject to a pay-on-death beneficiary designation, or trustee for another person.
