C. (§5.3) Definition and Description of Mediation

Mediation is a process for resolving disputes through the use of a neutral third party whose role is to facilitate negotiation between the parties with the goal of a voluntary settlement. In the context of a dissolution of marriage, mediation typically involves a series of meetings involving the divorcing parties and the mediator, often without others, such as legal representatives, in attendance.
