A. (§5.10) Qualifications

Once the decision to mediate has been made, the parties must agree on the individual who will act as the mediator. Because that person will be quite literally at the center of the dissolution process as it affects a couple, they must both feel confident in that person’s skills, including the capacity to remain impartial and unbiased and the ability to maintain a relatively level playing field for the parties.
