Section 49 Telephone Hearings

The procedures followed in telephone hearings are set forth in 8 CSR 10‑5.030. If a telephone hearing is scheduled, special instructions will be printed on the back of the notice of hearing. A party that fails to follow these instructions may lose a favorable case because of procedural problems. For example, a hearing was held without the input of an employer that failed to provide a telephone number where the employer could be contacted for the telephone hearing. Brawley & Flowers, Inc. v.
