The Director of the Department of Social Services, a “IV-D” child support collection agency, or a person to whom a child support obligation is owed may cause a lien to be placed on several types of intangible property, including causes of action and workers’ compensation claims of the obligor. Sections 454.517–454.519, RSMo 2000. Liens on real estate and titled personal property (motor vehicles, watercraft, and manufactured homes) may also be imposed by the same persons.
