Missouri’s minimum wage law, §§ 290.500–290.530, RSMo 2000 and Supp. 2007, was originally enacted in 1990 and applied only to those employees who were not covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 201 et seq. The law was amended by Proposition B in November 2006 mainly to raise the rate, and it now applies to employees who are also covered by the FLSA, but it should be noted that there are still numerous exclusions from coverage by the Missouri law.
