D. (§4.9) Amended Informations and Substitute Informations for Indictments
Technically, an indictment, unlike an information, cannot be amended. The proper procedure is to substitute an information for the indictment. An information may be amended or substituted at any time before the jury is sworn. Section 545.300, RSMo 2000.
