A. (§4.8) Premises and Operations Coverage

Premises and operations coverage protects a contractor from liability for “bodily injury” or “property damage” arising out of an accident occurring during the course of construction and around the premises owned or operated by a contractor. This coverage, like all coverages under a CGL policy, is established by the “combination” of the policy insuring agreement, the relevant exclusions and definitions, and the policy’s limits section. Thus, the 2001 CGL Policy creates and defines this coverage by the following insuring agreement, exclusion, limits of insurance section, and policy definition:

1. Insuring Agreement

a. We will pay those sums that the insured becomes legally obligated to pay as damages because of “bodily injury” or “property damage” to which this damages insurance applies.
