2. (§4.8) As Defendants
A minor defendant who does not have a guardian must be represented by a guardian ad litem. Rule 52.02(e). Guardian ad litem appointments are governed by Rule 52.02(f). If the minor defendant does not secure the appointment of a guardian ad litem after the expiration of the time for pleading plus one day, the court has the duty to appoint some competent person to be guardian ad litem.
