· Life expectancy. Crane v. Crest Tankers, Inc., 47 F.3d 292 (8th Cir. 1995).

· Courts may take judicial notice of the mortality tables found in Volume 42 of Vernon’s Annotated Missouri Statutes, p. 801 (Vernon Law Book Co. 1953), to establish a plaintiff’s life expectancy. Turner v. Cowart, 450 S.W.2d 441, 445 (Mo. 1969). Also, the courts have ruled that “standard mortality tables” are admissible and may be considered by the jury to determine life expectancy. Leh v. Dyer, 643 S.W.2d 65 (Mo. App. E.D. 1982); Kilmer v. Browning, 806 S.W.2d 75 (Mo. App. S.D. 1991). Before ruling on the admissibility of a mortality table, the court will usually require a submissible showing of a permanent injury by a plaintiff. Simmons v. Jones, 361 S.W.2d 860 (Mo. App. S.D. 1962).

· Insanity may be transient. Forbis v. Forbis, 274 S.W.2d 800 (Mo. App. S.D. 1955).

· Laws of hygiene. Valley Spring Hog Ranch Co. v. Plagmann, 220 S.W. 1 (Mo. banc 1920).

· Parts of anatomy. Rockenstein v. Rogers, 31 S.W.2d 792 (Mo. 1930).

· Blood pressure may rise from a cause other than a diseased heart. Scott v. Mo. Ins. Co., 222 S.W.2d 549 (Mo. App. E.D. 1949), aff’d, 233 S.W.2d 660 (Mo. banc 1950).

· Cannot judicially notice dermatitis as an occupational disease. State ex rel. Inter-State Oil Co. v. Bland, 190 S.W.2d 227 (Mo. banc 1945).

· Memory for facts and details fades with time. Klopstein v. Schroll House Moving Co., 425 S.W.2d 498 (Mo. App. E.D. 1968).

· Human gestation period is generally 280 days but may range up to 11 months. State ex rel. Div. of Family Servs. v. Brown, 897 S.W.2d 154, 158 (Mo. App. S.D. 1995); Carr v. Grimes, 852 S.W.2d 345, 351–52 (Mo. App. S.D. 1993); State ex rel. Div. of Family Servs. v. Guffey, 795 S.W.2d 546 (Mo. App. S.D. 1990).

· Sclerotic heart disease affects people in all walks of life. Liebrum v. Laclede Gas Co., 419 S.W.2d 517 (Mo. App. E.D. 1967).

· Narcotic drugs can influence and affect reactions and judgment of users. Gaddy v. State Bd. of Registration for Healing Arts, 397 S.W.2d 347 (Mo. App. S.D. 1965).
