B. (§4.33) Project Management Protective Liability

There is a comparable product to an OCP Policy known as a Project Management Protective Liability (PMPL) Policy, which is referred to in the GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT OF CONSTRUCTION, AIA A201 (Am. Inst. of Architects 1997). This policy was established to respond to the concerns voiced by design professionals regarding their vicarious liability arising out of a contractor’s construction means and methods and the adequacy of the scope of coverage design professionals receive as additional insureds under a contractor’s CGL policy or under an OCP Policy.
