The costs of the deposition (not of copies) in the amount provided by law as certified by the reporter will be taxed in the case in favor of the party paying the reporter. Rule 57.10. This does not apply to video depositions unless the parties have stipulated otherwise. Rule 57.03(c)(6).

It has been held that a dismissal “at defendant’s costs” requires the payment of only those deposition costs that are authorized by § 492.590, RSMo 2000, and not the payment of the actual costs charged by the reporter. See...
