VII. (§4.27) Conclusion

Although there is as yet no legal requirement in Missouri that both parties have separate counsel, the prudent attorney should strongly consider not agreeing to prepare an antenuptial or postnuptial agreement unless the client’s prospective spouse (or spouse) agrees to obtain separate counsel, preferably someone skilled in matrimonial law.
