The scope of discovery by way of depositions is governed, as are other forms of discovery, by Rule 56.01(b) and may be limited by way of protective orders.

As opposed to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 30(c), which provides that the order of interrogation is to proceed as permitted at trial, the Missouri rules do not attempt to control the order of examination.
