C. (§4.11) Medical Significance
Bass v. Nooney Co., 646 S.W.2d 765 (Mo. banc 1983), abandons the previously effective "impact rule" (see §4.9 above for a complete discussion) and requires a plaintiff to prove that "the emotional distress or mental injury [is] medically diagnosable and [is] of sufficient severity so as to be medically significant."
