1. (§31) Time for Filing Suit
To pursue a mechanic’s lien claim, the claimant must file suit to enforce the mechanic’s lien within six months after the filing of the lien statement; otherwise, the lien expires. Section 429.170, RSMo 2000. If the original lien statement contains some errors or omissions, they may be corrected within the six-month period for filing liens.
