An employee who has been employed for at least 90 days by a corporation of seven or more employees can, within 1 year of being discharged or voluntarily quitting, request a service letter in accordance with § 290.140, RSMo 2000, by sending a written request by certified mail to the superintendent, manager, or registered agent of the corporation. Within 45 days after receiving the request, the corporation must provide to the employee a letter, signed by the superintendent or manager, stating:
