VI. (§30.18) Disposition of Frozen Preembryos

Frozen, or cryopreserved, preembryos are the natural result of the IVF (in vitro fertilization) process. Preembryos are the organisms created when the sperm cell fertilizes the egg in the laboratory and then divides. Sometimes as many as 15–20 preembryos are created.
