Equitable claims are generally not subject to garnishment. See 6 AM. JUR. 2D Attachment and Garnishment § 154 (2008).
If it has been judicially determined that funds held in a court registry belong to the debtor, those funds may be garnished by a judgment creditor. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals v. Berousek, 992 S.W.2d 386 (Mo. App. S.D. 1999).
