In Bowan ex rel. Bowan v. Express Medical Transporters, Inc., 135 S.W.3d 452 (Mo. App. E.D. 2004), the plaintiff and the defendant entered into a § 537.065, RSMo 2000, agreement in which the defendant agreed to pay the plaintiff $960,000 in exchange for her agreement to limit recovery on her negligence claim to specific insurance proceeds.
