C. (§28.18) Acknowledgment of Parentage

Section 210.823.1, RSMo 2000, provides that the filing of an acknowledgment of paternity under § 193.215, RSMo 2000, creates a legally binding determination of parentage. See §28.16, supra. Section 210.854, RSMo Supp. 2011, now provides for a mechanism through which a man who has previously acknowledged paternity may challenge that determination based on new evidence of scientific testing that he is not the father of the child.
