E. (§28.17) Parole From Consecutive Sentences

Consecutive sentences create a unique problem for potential parolees because the inmate must make parole on the first sentence before consideration is given to parole on the second (consecutive) sentence. For example, under consecutive sentences of 3 years each for a class D felony, an inmate may be required to serve 7 months of the first sentence before being considered for parole under the second sentence.
