Those who benefit from sovereign immunity are shielded from liability for contribution and are immune from suit. State ex rel. Mo. Highway & Transp. Comm’n v. Appelquist, 698 S.W.2d 883 (Mo. App. S.D. 1985), abrogated on other grounds by Cates v. Webster, 727 S.W.2d 901 (Mo. banc 1987).

A question arises, however, regarding treatment of a party with “partial immunity.” In Jones v. St. Louis Housing Authority,
726 S.W.2d 766 (Mo. App. E.D. 1987), the plaintiff sued the St. Louis Housing Authority, the landscaping company, and the manufacturer of the lawn mower for the wrongful death of her ten-year-old son, who was killed when a large stick was thrown from the lawn mower.
