Section 27 Leaves of Absence for Voting Purposes

Under § 115.639, RSMo 1994, any person who is eligible to vote at any election held within Missouri is entitled to three hours leave of absence between the times the polls open and close in order to vote. An employer may not use absence for voting as a reason for discharge or threat of discharge and cannot deduct wages for absence during that period.
